Imperial Cape Cod Tradition to Treasure , 2nd Ed.
Garrison, Myrna & Bob
Collector's Loot, 1992. 136 pages. ISBN: usassigned.
Retail: $29.95

Introduced in 1931 and produced until Imperial closed, Cape Cod was their second most popular pattern. Over 300 pieces were made, and no other reference is this complete. Imperial Cape Cod Tradition to Treasure gives complete production information for every piece, as well as colors, unusual blown stemware, and aftermarket items . A section on lookalikes and an updated page of reproductions are included.

Like their Imperial Milk Glass book, the Garrisons write a short history of both Imperial and Cape Cod. This is followed by a small photo section which highlights unusual and colored items. But the main part of this book is the 84 pages of Cape Cod catalog reprints. Sizes and shapes are well-documented so that there's no confusion item identification. One drawback is that the price guide dates to 1992. Matching the item numbers found to a current book like Florence's Elegant solves this problem. Overall this book is excellent for anyone who enjoys Cape Cod or wants to know the many rarities.
